The Fed and JP Morgan announce they will provide funding to Bear Stearns. The Fed will back JP Morgan via the Discount Window. The initial period is for 28 days.

There are rumors in the market regarding Bear Stearns credit problems which are pressuring the Stock market. USDJPY testing 102.00. GBPJPY has a low of 205.45. Both are still above the overnight lows of 101.82 and 205.27.
